Davidson College is a residential college and promotes living on campus through a 4-year residency requirement. Therefore, over 95% of Davidson students live on campus each semester.
Davidson's Residence Life program is dedicated to providing safe, secure and comfortable residential communities that support and enhance student academic performance and social development. Residence Life promotes respect and responsibility among individuals in our community and encourages students to learn from one another to become model citizens.

Important Dates for 2012 - 2013
Move-In:

Wed. Aug. 22nd - First-Year Drop-Off (6:00 - 9:00 pm)
(Incoming students my choose to move their belongings into their room during this time but must leave by 9:00 pm)

Thurs. Aug. 23rd - Halls open for First-Years (8:30 am)
Students must go through Orientation check-in first and have student ID to check into their residence hall.

Sat. Aug. 25th - Halls open for returning students (8:30 am)
Winter Break:
End of Year Closing:

Sun. May 19th - Residence halls close for non-seniors (5:00 pm), though students who are not staying for Commencement should plan to leave within 24 hours after the last final exam period.

Mon. May 20th - Residence halls close for graduating seniors (Noon)
Note: The residence halls remain open during Fall Break , Thanksgiving, and Spring Break.
