SASASAAS (Southern Atlantic States Association for Asian and African Studies) is a consortium of colleges and universities in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia established to stimulate and enhance the study of Asia and Africa. Davidson College is a member of this consortium. The Wake Forest/SASASAAS Program in China is designed for students who wish to begin, or continue, Chinese language study while taking two area studies courses in Chinese culture and society taught in English.
The fall semester program combines classroom instruction with a rich variety of extracurricular activities that allow students to take advantage of living in a country that is not only one of the world's oldest civilizations but one of today's fastest growing economies. APPLICATION INFORMATION: Students apply directly to CET via their on-line application process through Wake Forest University. However, Davidson students need to obtain a SASASAAS Consortium Approval Form from the Davidson College Study Abroad Office. Note that Davidson's on-leave deadline is March 15. The application is currently available on the Wake Forest website. CET opens their application process on February 1 on a rolling admission basis. We recommend that you apply to this program early in order to be able to let Davidson know your plans by the March 15 deadline.
For more information, please visit Wake Forest's website about the China: SASASAAS program. For questions, please contact the Davidson College Study Abroad Coordinator (704-894-2250).
