Office of the Vice-President for Student Life and Dean of Students The Vice-President for Student Life and Dean of Students is the chief student affairs office for the College and is responsible for overseeing the offices of the Dean of Students, Residence Life, Career Services, Student Health and Counseling Center, Chaplain, Community Service, Leadership Programs, the College Union, and Public Safety. The Dean of Students office is responsible for pre-major advising, academic support, disability services, Freshman Orientation, Family Weekend, and Minority Student Affairs. The Dean is the chair of the Watson Fellowship selection, the Council on Campus Life and Religious Life and the Student Conduct Council. He also is responsible for the advisement and administration of the Honor System and Code of Responsibility. |

Career Services The Office of Career Services believes that career development is an individualized, ongoing process that evolves over a lifetime at a pace geared to the person making the journey. From job searching to preparing for graduate school, the Career Services staff members can give valuable advice and direction. |

Alvarez College Union The Knobloch Campus Center is home to the Alvarez College Union, and a popular gathering place and program site for the college community. The Director and staff of the College Union manage Alvarez and other facilities, advise student groups in event planning and funding, and work with the Union Board and Davidson Outdoors to provide quality programs and activities. |

Public Safety Davidson College's Department of Public Safety and Police is a full-service law enforcement agency, dedicated to the: Prevention of crime, Protection of life and property, Preservation of peace, order, and safety, Enforcement of laws and rules, and Safeguarding of constitutional guarantees. |

Residence Life The Residence Life Office (RLO) at Davidson College is dedicated to providing an environment for students that supports and enhances academic performance and social development. RLO works to establish a safe and secure setting and a comfortable standard of living for all residents. |

Religious Life The Chaplaincy exists to address a broad range of spiritual needs and to foster all manner of religious expression and inquiry at Davidson College. Davidson's chaplains serve as pastors to the college community. We are available to people from any faith tradition, or none at all, for pastoral counseling, spiritual direction, and program planning. |

Student Counseling The Student Counseling Center is located in the Student Health Facility, at the corner of 514 North Main Street and Glasgow Street (entrance to residential section of campus). Counseling services are free to any student, up to 10 sessions per academic year. Davidson College students are entitled to as many as 10 individual sessions per academic year, at no charge. If more sessions are needed, arrangements can be made, depending on student need and resources. The service is actively utilized at Davidson: during the course of an academic year, about 20% of the student body at Davidson seeks one or more individual counseling sessions at the Student Counseling Center. |

Student Health The Davidson College Student Health Service provides routine health care with the services of a full-time nursing staff and part-time professionals contracted through Davidson Family Medicine of Davidson/Cornelius. |

Chidsey Leadership Development The mission of Chidsey Leadership Development is to prepare students for lives of leadership and service. We believe that all Davidson students have the potential and responsibility to inspire and empower others to be a positive force in the community. We collaborate with others in the Davidson Community to provide comprehensive leadership development programming.
