Dalmatian Coast - SOLD OUT

April 17-25, 2007

Visit Venica, Ravenna, Split, Dubrovnik, Korcula, and Pula by boat on this nine-day travel program along Dalmatia’s ruggedly beautiful, island-dotted shoreline.  You will sail abroad the M.Y. Monet, an intimate 31-cabin vessel designed for coastal crusing.  All staterooms are outside with private bathrooms with showers and the ship has a piano lounge, a Jacuzzi and sun decks fore and aft.

Your voyage begins in Venice where you’ll visit the Piazza San Marco and the Doges’ Palace.   From there you’ll sail to Ravenna, where you’ll see the greatest Byzantine sanctuaries and view their world-famous mosaics.  In Split, Croatia you will be captivated during a tour of the Diocletian’s Palace, one of the best preserved Roman buildings in Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  In Dubrovnik, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, you will visit the Rector’s Palace, an elaborate Gothic-style Franciscan Monastery.    During your last days of cruising you’ll enjoy a walking tour of Korcula as well as a stop at the Renaissance-Baroque Abbey Treasury.  Finally, you’ll visit Pula, featuring the monumental Roman Arena, one of the grandest Greco-Roman monuments in the world built in 27 B.C., before heading back to Venice.

This unforgettable trip includes additional educational and cultural enrichment programs including a presentation about restoration efforts in Venice by a former UNESCO conservationist, a specially arranged wine tasting in Korcula, and other lectures about the people and the traditions of the Dalmatian Coast.  Sign up now for what is sure to be a once in a lifetime trip to a beautiful part of the world!
