Teaching with iPads and other emerging technologies | Call for Fall semester proposals

March 12, 2013

Contact:   Mur Muchane

ITS and the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) will continue the Teaching with iPads initiative in Fall 2013 for faculty interested in investigating the pedagogical benefits of iPads in teaching and learning. We welcome proposals that articulate a vision of how using the iPad might enhance a course that you will be teaching. For the selected proposals, we will provide an iPad 2 for the instructor and for each student to keep for the duration of the course.

Additionally, next semester ITS will make available some new technologies for investigative use in courses - the Parrot AR.Drone 2.0 (http://ardrone2.parrot.com/usa/), Looxcie wearable camera (http://www.looxcie.com/products-page/cameras/looxcie-hd-explore/) and a small number of Microsoft Surface Pros (http://www.microsoft.com/Surface/en-US/surface-with-windows-8-pro/home). Because we have limited numbers of each of these experimental technologies, faculty members might not have exclusive use throughout the semester.

To participate, please complete either the attached iPad Proposal Form or  the Technology in Courses Proposal Form and return it to Rachel Stewart  by April 5th. You will be notified of a decision by April 19th.

If you would like a consultation, please feel free to contact Rachel Stewart.
