The transition from Blackboard to Moodle, started in fall 2011, is now in the final semester push toward completion. You will recall that this change was recommended by a group of faculty, ITS staff and students following a year-long evaluation of Learning Management Systems. Moodle was found to have advantages over Blackboard with regard to ease of use, flexibility, adaptability to the needs of faculty and students, significantly reduced institutional cost, as well as collaboration with the open source community.

We are pleased to announce that we have hired Brian McGue '12 as a temporary and dedicated resource to assist in these efforts. He will contact each faculty member individually to review, complete, and test all course migrations.
