Apple recently introduced a new member of the iPad family, the iPad mini. It's thinner and lighter, designed to fit in one hand. The multitouch display is about 8 inches, and the mini includes iSight and FaceTime cameras, WiFi connectivity (with the option of 4G LTE), and gets a reported 10 hours maximum battery life. It also uses Apple's new Lightning connector - a big improvement in usability and functionality over the old 30-pin Dock connector - so if you have a crop of Dock connector cables already, plan to replace them or get an adapter.
Storage sizes are 16, 32 and 64 GB, and prices start at $329. More information is available at: Apple's iPad mini website.
