The counseling staff of the Student Health and Counseling Center consists of qualified licensed professionals who are dedicated to helping students maintain overall wellness while pursuing their education. Although each is counselor is qualified to address a variety of concerns, below is a snapshot of each counselor's specific area of interest and/or expertise.
Trish Murray, PhD, Director/Counselor Trish Murray earned her PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision from the University of South Carolina. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and an Approved Clinical Supervisor. Her clinical interests include college student development, life transitions, family of origin issues, mood disorders and supervision.
John Brunelle, PhD, Psychologist/Counselor John Brunelle earned his PhD in Counseling Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is a Licensed Psychologist in the state of North Carolina. His clinical interests include working with student athletes, issues related to grief and loss, group counseling and college student development.
Lisa Collard, MA, Eating Disorder Specialist/Counselor Lisa Collard earned her Master of Arts in Psychology from Marshall University. She is a Licensed Psychologist in West Virginia and a Licensed Psychological Associate in North Carolina. Her clinical interests include eating disorders, body image concerns, mood disorders, and relationship issues.
David Graham, PhD, Coordinator for Minority Outreach/Counselor David Graham earned his PhD in Counseling from the University or North Carolina at Charlotte. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor. His clinical interests include working with minority populations, multicultural/cross-cultural concerns, student athletes, LGBTQ issues, and men's issues. In addition to his clinical work, David also provides outreach and support to students involved in various programs on campus (e.g., Changing Minds, S.T.R.I.D.E., etc.).
