The Dance Department brings the theory and practice of dance into the academic curriculum of Davidson College. Integrating the corporeal and the intellectual, the program provides opportunities for students to explore the possibilities of their own physicality and to consider how meaning is made from bodily practices. Drawing upon the liberal arts tradition, the program situates dance as art that shapes—and is shaped by—the cultures in which it is practiced.
Courses are available for students of all levels and ranges of previous experience.
