Student medical records are housed in the Student Health Center and all medical records are strictly confidential. Medical information is released to parents, college officials, and others only with written authorization of the student.

Davidson College operates on an Honor System. The Student Health center does not write medical excuses; however, personnel will verify that a student was seen at the Center or stayed in the Infirmary with the student’s written authorization.

For medical and legal reasons, the Student Health Center cannot take orders from physician parents or family physicians with the exception of written orders for lab work. A post-operative student must have written orders from the surgeon for admission and care in the Infirmary.
