July Experience (JE) students choose from a wide variety of recreational and social activities on campus. Campus facilities including the student union, fitness center, indoor pool, climbing wall, basketball and tennis courts and lake campus are available to participants. Organized events include Davidson traditions such as flickerball, summer frolics, JE Olympics, talent show, movie nights and more. Off-campus trips to cinemas, restaurants and shopping centers are organized as available.

Understanding the College Admission Process: July Experience participants gain a better understanding of the general college admission process and financial aid through:
- Mock college admission interviews
- Workshop on highly selective admission criteria
- Cultural diversity workshop aimed at helping students address issues of inclusivity and open dialogue
- Informal discussion with the Dean of Admission and Financial Aid
Developing Your Leadership Style: Leaders come in all styles and personalities. By participating in a half-day Davidson College Challenge Course, students:
- Get to know one another better
- Increase trust
- Identify skills of members of the group
- Develop an approach to problem solving
- Expand communication skills
- Improve creative thinking
