Information Technology Services

Information Technology Services (ITS) is responsible for providing and supporting all aspects of campus computing and telecommunications services. ITS’ mission is to work in collaboration with members of the Davidson community to facilitate the use of current and emerging information technology resources. The Davidson community served by ITS includes faculty, staff, students, alumni, parents, prospective students, retired faculty, trustees, vendors, contractors, and all other individuals and organizations that interact with the College. These individuals and organizations are provided with varying levels of access to computing infrastructure and services.

The range of systems and services provided include those that support and enrich teaching, learning, research and administration. The systems and services touch virtually every aspect of campus life and are central to the academic enterprise as well as administrative processes.

Banner Maintenance Planned for the Weekend of June 22-23, 2013
Banner will be unavailable the weekend of June 22 and 23 while ITS applies some important upgrades to the system. This maintenance also affects Banner Self-Service. Please plan accordingly. The system will be available again by the opening of business on Monday, June 24. Please contact the ITS Help Desk if you have any questions or concerns related to this maintenance.
Davidson Joins Leading Online Learning Consortium edX
Davidson College announced today a partnership with edX, a non-profit enterprise founded by Harvard and MIT, to produce a series of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) over the next several years. Davidson is among the first leading liberal arts colleges to collaborate with edX on the XConsortium platform, which is now comprised of 26 global educational institutions.
New ITS Partnership brings Virtual Computing to Davidson
ITS is pleased to announce the pilot implementation of a Virtual Computing Lab (VCL) environment for Davidson College's academic community. Made possible through a new ITS partnership with North Carolina State University (NCSU), VCL is an open-source cloud computing platform developed by NCSU using the Apache Foundation's Virtual Computing Lab software. The platform is widely used at a number of R1 institutions, including Duke and UNC-Chapel Hill universities.
